There is a war going on... and everyday we are losing individuals of all ages and nationalities to it. In 2009 ABC News reported that about 30 million Americans have trouble with basic reading and writing. THIRTY MILLION! That is too many of our teens and adults not being able to reach their full potential. It's time for us to say that is no longer acceptable.
It's time to take a stand...
Welcome to
"Do The Write Thang", a one-stop shop for mobilizing the world around the importance of literacy. As a division of The Write Stuff Literacy Campaign, this is the hub for Shadow Play Entertainment's projects that have something for everyone. We are all going through difficult times, however, the promotion of literacy is something that we can't allow to fall through the cracks.
Working with independent and traditional publishers, authors and some of the biggest names in the arts, entertainment and sports industries, it is our goal that you will share this information provided here and add your name and/or organization to our cause. Under the leadership of Cyrus A. Webb, we will be hosting events both online and offline designed to get your input and assist you in your particular area. This will include coordinating "Reading Parties" in cities across the country and live chats to discuss how we can combat this growing epidemic.
"Do The Write Thang" is a FREE SERVICE for you to get what is needed in order to improve our world one voice and one book at a time.

Who said that the Hip Hop community didn't care about books? Over the past 10 years, some of the most powerful books to hit the market have come from those who represent or have covered issues that affect the Hip Hop generation. With HIP HOP AND BOOKS, we have gathered some of the authors and books that we feel as though are making the most impact and gathered them for you to enjoy.
Though most of the discussions are taking place online, Shadow Play Entertainment and Conversations Book Club do hold town-hall style discussions as well as meetings to bring out some of the talking points of the books Hip Hop and Books has chosen. We also pay attention to those in the recording industry that are using their influence to encourage reading as well.
Make sure to visit www.hiphopandbooks.com and see for yourself.
